God has impressed me with three major focus initiatives for the Church of God - Prayer, the Great Commission, and a Quest for Trust.

Prayer, however, is the dominant, guiding factor. Prayer is the foundation, the power thrust, for uniting the church to engage in the other two initiatives, for these reasons:

PRAYER brings the church together in scriptural unity, spiritual harmony, and steadfast trust to fulfill the Great Commission.

PRAYER combines the resources and energies of the church in under-girding our mission and vision.

PRAYER discloses what God is doing in the world and how to join Him in what He is doing.

PRAYER reveals God's specific plans for a local congregation and how to achieve them in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer is indeed the heartbeat of the Church!

This mega-concentration on prayer will position the Church of God to be His instrument for renewal and to duplicate the influence of the early Church in the Book of Acts.

Let it be so!

Prayer - The Heartbeat of the Church

We believe that God has divinely commissioned the Church of God to be a champion for truth in the 21st century.

We believe He has instituted prayer as a direct source of power from Him to embrace the mandate to effectively expand His Kingdom and to live the abundant life in Jesus Christ.

We will therefore:

Make prayer a priority in fulfilling the mission and vision of the Church of God.

Recognize that prayer is the direct channel to connect with the presence, promises, and power of God.

Endorse the outlined prayer initiative as set forth by the leadership of the Church of God.

Participate in Great Days of Prayer, churchwide Prayer Study, and Wednesday Morning Prayer Time.

We embrace these covenant statements with our hearts and confess them with our mouths, and boldly stand on the eternal truths of God's unchanging Word to fulfill them. Be it so!

Amen!
